En Plein Air Saturday - May 6 - Highland Park

Join us for an artful picnic in nature around Los Angeles. Expect an easy day En Plein Air. Saturday, May 06, we will stake-out a neighborhood park or trail and layout a modest picnic. We will bring some speakers for ambient vibes. RSVP down below so I can prepare accordingly

We will be around Highland Park, there are some lovely parks scattered through out the neighborhood.

Location TBA - RSVP to receive the exact location 24 hrs before the event.
Time - 11:30-3:30p

Things to bring:

  • a picnic blanket

  • a snack to share

  • water

  • comfy pants

  • a warm jacket (think layers)

  • a hat

  • sunscreen

  • a sketchbook (if you have one)

  • art supplies (if you have any) - if you do not have art supplies please let me know in advance, so we can make sure we bring enough supplies

  • a book (if drawing is not your thing, you can totally bring a book and just hang out)

  • a journal (if you prefer to go off on your own for an introspective time to journal, make sure you tell a friend or bring a friend, safety in numbers)

  • a musical instrument - if you would like to serenade us, we will not object.

  • pillows - for naps or for sitting

  • camping chairs

  • hammocks welcome - bring a protective covering for the trees

  • slack lines weclome - bring safetly flags for high visibility and a protective covering for the trees, (cardboard works fantastic)

  • pups welcome - MUST BE KEPT ON A LEASH AT ALL TIMES. Safety first

En Plein Air - DATE [TBD] Saturday - postponed until better weather

Join us for an artful picnic in nature around Los Angeles.

“…Plein Air drawing or painting refers to the French phrase “en plein air” which mean “out in the open air.” It simply means doing observation drawings or paintings outside. The Impressionist painters of the late 1800’s loved to paint outdoors because the light would change and create different scenes.”
